Surrey, B.C. – Surrey’s popular Bear Creek Lights returns Nov. 6-20 with its largest display yet featuring 25 per cent more light displays, an expanded walking route, and new opportunities for visitors to experience Bear Creek Park after dark.

“Bear Creek Lights has become a favourite Surrey tradition and one of our most popular seasonal park events,” said Laurie Cavan, general manager of parks, recreation and culture. “With free admission, it’s a fun and accessible way for families and friends to enjoy the lights together before the holidays. With over 60,000 visitors last year, pre-booking tickets is highly recommended.”

Now in its 14th year, Bear Creek Lights showcases the beauty of one of the City’s most popular parks. Popular photo opportunities throughout the route, including a returning 40-foot Starlight Tunnel and the popular Giant Bear display. Visitors can also enjoy guided nature walks, storytime, and live performances on select nights. Food trucks such as Little oOtie’s Mini Donuts, Japadog, and Rotato & Potato will also be on site.

Free, timed-entry tickets will be available starting Oct. 20 at 10 a.m. Entry times are available every 30 minutes from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Drop-in availability will be limited, especially on weekends.

The event will go ahead rain or shine (subject to extreme weather) and will be closed Nov. 11 for Remembrance Day. Guest parking is available off 88 Avenue. Event check-in will be located at the Spray Park entrance, immediately south of the parking lot.
