The drama film “Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon,” which stars powerhouse actresses Jodi Sta. Maria and Agot Isidro, is set to premiere on Netflix on August 13.
The streaming service unveiled Thursday the film’s premiere date alongside its key art.
Directed by Cholo H. Laurel, “Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon” follows Joanne (Sta. Maria), a TV writer on the verge of a career-defining opportunity, who is thrown off-course by the return of her mother (Isidro), forcing her to confront long-buried wounds from her childhood.
“She’s accomplished, she’s intelligent, she’s very strong, but the question is ‘why’? What motivated this character to be the way she is?” Sta. Maria said of her character in a press statement.
The film leans into “the emotional pull of a typical Filipino family narrative” and the “distinct ‘dysfunctions’ that make each family’s experience truly unique,” Netflix said.
Apart from Sta. Maria and Isidro, the film also stars Gabriel Lazaro, Gardo Versoza, Ruby Ruiz, RK Bagatsing, Mitch Valdez and Angel Aquino.
“Ganito, Ganyan, Ganoon” is among the titles Netflix unveiled earlier this year as part of its 2026 Philippine slate, which also includes the young adult romance film “18th Rose,” the horror-mystery series “Balaraw,” and Erik Matti’s dystopian action series “BuyBust: The Undesirables,” among others.
