This past Saturday, Mayor Ken Sim and members of his ABC Vancouver team visited Killarney to meet with residents in one of Vancouver’s most diverse neighbourhoods. The group stopped at 88 Supermarket to speak with shoppers and staff about the issues affecting Vancouver families.
Mayor Sim thanked everyone who took the time to stop, ask questions, and share their perspectives during the visit.
“One of the most important parts of serving this city is listening to the people who call it home,” said Mayor Ken Sim. “Conversations like these help us better understand the priorities of Vancouverites and ensure we’re focused on delivering results that matter in their daily lives.”
Mayor Ken Sim by Deputy Mayor Sarah Kirby-Yung, Councillors Mike Klassen, Lenny Zhou, Lisa Dominato, Peter Meiszner, and Park Board Commissioner Angela Haer.
“We’re building a Vancouver that works for everyone,” continued Mayor Sim. “Over the last four years, we’ve seen real progress in making Vancouver a safer and more affordable city by investing in public safety and freezing property tax increases. We’re excited to continue that work moving forward.”
Throughout the visit, Mayor Sim thanked local employees and business owners for the important role they play in supporting neighbourhoods, creating jobs, and strengthening the local economy.
“Local businesses help bring communities together and are an essential part of what makes Vancouver such a vibrant and welcoming city,” said Sim. “It was wonderful to meet so many residents connected to our local economy. ABC is proud to be creating the conditions that allow businesses to succeed and neighbourhoods to thrive.”
The delegation received a warm welcome from 88 Supermarket owner Ken Chau, Chief Financial Officer Eric Lam, Kelly Au, Khaleel Qureshi, the management team, dedicated staff, and the Directors of the Vietnam Canada Business Association (VCBA).
