Music lovers were treated to an extraordinary piano performance as Quartetto Vivo (2 Pianos, 8 Hands, 40 Dancing Fingers) captivated the audience during the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) Day of Music at the beautiful Pyatt Hall.
The talented quartet Dorothy Uytengsu, Sunny Qu, Monica Lee, and Tanya Tyuleneva showcased remarkable artistry, precision, and musical chemistry in a performance that earned enthusiastic applause from concertgoers.
Their varied and exciting program featured celebrated classical masterpieces, including Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, Brahms’ Hungarian Dances Nos. 1 and 5, Wildman’s Trance, and Wagner’s Flight of the Valkyries. The unique four-pianist collaboration demonstrated the power and beauty of ensemble piano performance, with all four artists sharing two grand pianos in a spectacular display of talent and coordination.
Following the concert, the performers were joined backstage by Philippine Consul Andre Peter Estanislao, along with Jeannie Pilapil and Kenson Ho, who congratulated the musicians on their outstanding presentation.
The performance was one of the highlights of the VSO Day of Music celebration, bringing together artists and audiences in a shared appreciation of classical music and cultural excellence. The evening further showcased Vancouver’s vibrant and diverse musical community while highlighting the exceptional contributions of local and international artists.
