MANILA, Philippines — Television host Robi Domingo and his wife Maiqui Pineda announced Monday that they have welcomed their first child.
The couple shared the news through an Instagram video showing Domingo and Pineda in a hospital room cradling their newborn.
In the clip, Domingo greeted the baby with the words, “Hi guys, welcome to the outside world,” accompanied by the “Pinoy Big Brother” theme song, “Pinoy Ako.”
Domingo also referenced his long-running association with the reality show in the post’s caption, writing, “Our newest housemate.”
The announcement quickly drew messages of congratulations from fellow celebrities and friends, including singer Gary Valenciano, actor-singer Darren Espanto, actress Maja Salvador, and Domingo’s “Pinoy Big Brother” co-hosts Kim Chiu, Luis Manzano, Alexa Ilacad, Bianca Gonzalez and Gabbi Garcia.
Domingo has kept followers updated throughout Pineda’s pregnancy, frequently sharing milestones and moments from their journey to parenthood.
The couple began dating in August 2018 and married on Jan. 6, 2024, after more than five years together. Their wedding was held at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Pulilan, Bulacan.
Although Domingo and Pineda were both students at Ateneo de Manila University, they were not part of the same social circles during their college years.
