The Filipino Canadian Educators Association of BC was officially formed on May 23, 2026, marking an important milestone for Filipino Canadian educators across British Columbia. Established with a shared vision of promoting professional growth, cultural pride, collaboration, and community engagement, the association aims to support educators while strengthening connections within the Filipino Canadian community.

The inaugural board of directors was composed of dedicated education professionals committed to advancing the organization’s mission and values. The leadership team includes the President Rosette Correa, Vice President Gay Pormento, Secretary Aleli Perez, and Treasurer Nemia Robles.

Supporting the executive team is the Communications Officer Paulette Galindo. The board is further strengthened by a group of Directors led by Homer Reyes, Carol Baniqued, Cynthia and Edwin Andal, and Marie Tapayan. The officers and board members are teacher and educational assistants in various schools in the lower mainland.

The formation of the association reflects a collective commitment to empowering Filipino Canadian educators and fostering excellence, representation, and unity throughout British Columbia.
