Honouring All Mothers!

Vancouver, May 10.– St. Mary the Virgin Church celebrated Mother’s Day which also happened to be Mothers Union Sunday at the church.  At the fellowship in the hall, Grefa Pinera, the Rector’s warden, honoured mothers of all types  – from moms to godmothers, aunts, yaya, maternal figures – with pink carnation corsages that she had fashioned herself. Funds for the Mothers’ Day corsages were donated by Tessie Camangeg and Nida Disu. Handmade cards were also handed to all the moms during the fellowship. Everyone had a slice of the ube cake donated by Myrna Ocampo.

Suzie Colobong also celebrated her birthday that day which made Mother’s Day extra special. Suzie recently arrived in Canada earlier this year. Happy birthday Suzie!

It was also a wonderful day to welcome Rev. Harold Munn, the supply priest for St Mary the  Virgin South Hill church, for his first Sunday Mass. Rev. Harold Munn is the supply priest for St. Mary’s while Rev. Expedito Farinas is on vacation.
