Vancouver, BC: The Philippine Consulate General celebrates April as Filipino Restaurant Month, marking the 5th edition of the Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC). This annual initiative showcases the rich and vibrant flavors of Filipino cuisine while promoting cultural appreciation and supporting Filipino-owned businesses across the country.
This year’s celebration highlights the world-renowned Philippine mango, recognized for its exceptional sweetness and versatility. Local chefs have curated exclusive prefixed menus featuring innovative dishes that elevate this iconic national fruit.
The official launch, hosted by Gina A. Jamoralin together with the officers and staff of the Consulate, was attended by distinguished guests, including Anne Kang; Paul Choi; members of the Consular Corps of British Columbia; Consuls General and Deputy Consuls General; as well as leaders and members of the Filipino-Canadian community.
Participating restaurants in Metro Vancouver include:
Max’s Restaurant Vancouver — Renowned for its “Sarap to the Bones” fried chicken, complemented by festive mango-infused creations. Located at 3546 Kingsway, Vancouver.
Plato Filipino — Offering a modern interpretation of classic Filipino comfort food in an elegant setting. Located at 892 Carnarvon Street, New Westminster.
Pampanga’s Cuisine — Showcasing authentic flavors from the culinary capital of the Philippines. Located at 6094 Fraser Street, Vancouver.
The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver, in partnership with Philippine Airlines, Air Canada, and the Philippine Department of Tourism, successfully launched the 2026 Filipino Restaurant Month in Canada (FRMC) for the month of April.
EAT & WIN! Diners who order a participating Prix Fixe menu can scan the official QR code, upload their receipt, and enter for a chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including travel vouchers, hotel accommodations in Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Cebu, as well as gift certificates from Seafood City and Jollibee.
