On September 6, 2026, Himig Kabataan Cultural Society returned to the Main Stage at the Surrey Arts Centre for their third season-end show, “HIMIG NG TAGUMPAY” (“Melody of Victory”).The concert celebrated the global Filipino community and Filipino excellence, highlighting the achievements of HKCS in the past year–expanding the society to 4 unique groups , global outreach, and HIMIG’s monumental win at the 2026 World Peace Choral Festival. “HIMIG NG TAGUMPAY” showcased a variety of the collective’s talents with HIMIG’s choral music, INDAK’s nostalgic and Pinoy-inspired hip-hop, TUGTOG’s take on Filipino jazz, and LIKHA’s opening short film that reflected members’ perspectives on victory.
“HIMIG NG TAGUMPAY” honoured the global Filipino community and encouraged appreciation for the Filipino experience. Preparing for this show provided an opportunity to deepen the society’s members’ understanding of the heritage that connects them to their ancestors. Through every rehearsal, song, and dance, our youth explored the many ways culture is preserved, shared, and reimagined by each new generation.
The concert was well received by its enthusiastic supporters; many shared that their enjoyment of the show “inspired a new love for being Filipino” and “re-ignited their Pinoy pride”. HKCS anticipates many performances to come, including their annual Christmas concert in December.
