The Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver organized and sponsored a special Memorial Mass at St. Mary’s Parish to honor the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Day tragedy, bringing together the community in prayer, unity, and peace.
Led by Gina A. Jamoralin, the gathering highlighted the resilience of the community and its enduring spirit of solidarity. The Mass, held at 5:00 PM, was presided over by Fr. Mark Hoo, OP and marked one year since the April 2025 incident in South Vancouver that claimed eleven lives and left many others injured.
Families, friends, and community members gathered in reflection and remembrance, offering prayers for healing and strength. The service served as a powerful symbol of resilience, as the Vancouver community continues to support one another in the face of loss.
One year later, the memory of those lost remains strong, inspiring a continued commitment to peace and solidarity.
