Blaine Redlac suffered serious injuries at the Lapu-Lapu festival tragedy in Vancouver on April 26, 2025. He lost much more. His fiancé Jendhel May Sico perished. His friend Glitza Daniela died.

Now he’s seeking answers from festival organizer Filipino BC about the donations received following the tragedy.

Specifically, Redlac wants to know how much in salaries have Filipino BC been paying its staff after the April 26, 2025 tragedy, as well as fees paid to its contractors and other remunerations disbursed by the organization.

“I wish to emphasize that this request is made to support transparency and maintain community trust. Open disclosure will help reassure donors, partner organizations, victims, and the broader public that funds donated for humanitarian purposes were managed appropriately,” Redlac stated in his letter.

Redlac outlined his call for a detailed financial accounting in a letter to Filipino BC on Friday, March 27, 2026.

His questions include, among others:

  •  How much money did Filipino BC have before the tragedy and after receiving the donations?
  • How much in salaries is Filipino BC paying its staff?
  • How much are Filipino BC contractors getting paid?
  • How much did Filipino BC give to Lapu-Lapu victims?

Echoing the sentiments of other survivors and families, he also called on Filipino BC to stop its plan to hold a Lapu-Lapu Day at the Italian Cultural Centre on April 19, 2026.
