Actress and TV host Anne Curtis was among the passengers affected by flight disruptions when her plane had to return to Milan due to increasing tensions in the Middle East.
In a series of Instagram Stories, Anne shared videos taken from her window seat, showing fighter jets flying near the aircraft. She said the flight, which departed from Milan following her Fashion Week trip and was bound for Dubai, was instructed to turn back mid-air.
“Next thing I knew, they announced we would be turning around and making our way back to Milan due to the airstrikes,” she wrote.
The actress later learned that flights to and from parts of the Middle East had been canceled as a safety precaution. She also urged Filipinos in the region to stay safe.
“Hoping things ease soon,” Anne added.
The disruption comes as tensions escalated in the region following reported airstrikes in Iran, including in the capital, Tehran, and nearby cities. The attacks, reportedly involving the United States and Israel, triggered retaliatory missile strikes targeting U.S. facilities in neighboring countries.
The situation has led to widespread flight cancellations and airspace restrictions, affecting travelers across multiple international routes as authorities prioritize passenger safety.(A. Villanueva/Manila Standard)
