Surrey, BC – The Conservative Electors Associations, led by President David Denhoff, Chair Kerry Lynne Findlay, and Vice Chair Elaine Allan, proudly announced the Conservative Party of Surrey’s official city council slate at the Empress Banquet Hall.

The announcement marked a momentous day for Surrey, with the first six official City Council candidates introduced:

  • Lita Cabal – A dedicated Surrey resident, community volunteer at City Dream Centre, Treasurer of the Fil-Can Cultural Heritage Society (FCCHS), and a proud candidate of record, former candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada.
  • Ricky Bajwa – A long-time Surrey resident, business manager, international badminton athlete turned certified coach, and a seasoned Conservative campaign organizer committed to community service.
  • James Yu – Community leader and founder of the Alliance of Chinese Conservatives of Canada, recipient of both the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee and King Charles III Coronation Medals, and a driving force against high-risk drug housing projects in South Surrey.
  • Rasinder Kaur – Entrepreneur, founder of the Norius Group of Companies and the Feminine Fellowship Outreach Society, and an inspiring immigration success story.
  • Holly Verchere – Retired Air Canada manager with 41 years in aviation safety and operations, former lifeguard and swim instructor, and recent election officer volunteer.
  • Cheney Clooke – Small business owner, former Vice Chair of the Surrey Police Board during the transition to the Surrey Police Service, former executive with Fraser Health, and a passionate advocate for children in local schools and sports.

The energy in the Empress Banquet Hall was unforgettable, with over 500 attendees — far exceeding the expected 300 — showing strong support for the Conservative Party of Surrey Team.

This announcement is just the beginning. A further unveiling of the Conservative Party’s candidate for Mayor and two additional city council candidates will be made in the coming weeks.

The Conservative Party of Surrey team is ready to bring common-sense leadership to City Hall, focused on safer streets, lower taxes, and putting families first — a vision that resonates with Surrey residents from every corner of the community.

With experienced, committed, and community-driven candidates, the Conservative Party of Surrey is poised to make a meaningful difference for families, businesses, and neighborhoods across the city.
