Another proud Filipino-Canadian is stepping forward to serve bringing experience, heart, and a deep commitment to community leadership.
Lita Cabal, a Candidate of Record has officially announced her intention to run in the 2026 Municipal Election as a candidate for Surrey City Council under the Conservative Party of Surrey Team.
Lita is no stranger to public service or the demands of a grassroots campaign. She previously ran as an official Conservative Party of Canada candidate for Member of Parliament in Vancouver East, where she gained invaluable, hands-on experience in every aspect of campaigning, from door knocking and fundraising to engaging in meaningful one-on-one conversations with residents across the community. That experience strengthened her belief that leadership begins with listening, showing up, and being ready to do the work.
During her nomination journey for Fleetwood–Port Kells, Lita’s path was defined by connection, service, and trust-building. She didn’t just meet people she formed lasting friendships, earned confidence from residents, and built strong support across diverse communities. Those conversations on doorsteps and at community events continue to shape her vision for a stronger, more inclusive Surrey.
Beyond politics, Lita remains deeply committed to serving the community. She actively volunteers at numerous local events, always leading with compassion and action. Most recently, Lita and her pickleball community came together to collect and distribute blankets to individuals experiencing homelessness in Surrey, demonstrating her belief that leadership is about service especially when it matters most.
Running for Surrey City Council marks an exciting new chapter one that brings Lita’s grassroots experience, community advocacy, and proven leadership closer to the decisions that directly impact families, neighborhoods, and local businesses.
