Television host and athlete Aira Lopez was praised for being “mature” after her boyfriend, former Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, reportedly brought chocolates for Kris Aquino ahead of her scheduled surgery.
Aira responded to a Facebook post claiming that Mark had given the “Queen of All Media” the sweets earlier this month.
“Ginawa ni Mark Leviste kay Kris Aquino, usap-usapan ngayon!” the post read.
“Proud na ibinahagi ni Kris ang ginawa sa kaniya ni Mark Leviste! ‘Di kaya mag-selos si Aira Lopez?” its caption read.
Aira took notice of the post and reacted.
“‘Wag na po nating gawing issue ang lahat. Whether he gave the chocolates or not, wala pong problema sa akin. I even encourage Mark to visit Ms. Kris in the hospital,” she said with a folded hands emoji.
“I sincerely wish her well and pray for her recovery,” Aira added.
It was initially reported that Mark had given some of Kris’ favorite chocolates to her while she was in the hospital.
It was later revealed that the chocolates were actually from Mark’s son, Ronin, who used to call Kris “mama.”
Kris had previously undergone a procedure and was hospitalized for high blood pressure.
Meanwhile, Aira was Lopez was praised for her “maturity” in handling the situation, particularly her gracious attitude toward her boyfriend’s former partner.
“Thanks, Aira, for handling that issue maturely. God bless you, you’re loved and blessed!” a Facebook user wrote.
“Tama ‘yan, idol, napakabait mo po at maganda pa. God bless you, idol,” another commented.
“That’s TRUE. Salute to you, Idol Aira! It is a sign of a [mature] relationship!” a different Pinoy wrote.
“Salute [to] you, sis… [you’re] so kind,” another commented.
Mark and Kris had an on-and-off relationship in 2023, when she was in the United States seeking treatment for her autoimmune conditions.
The former politician is now in a relationship with Aira, who is 28 years his junior. The couple went public with their relationship in January 2025.
Meanwhile, Kris does not appear to be seeing anyone at present.
She is currently managing several autoimmune conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, lupus (SLE), fibromyalgia, polymyositis and mixed connective tissue disease. (J. Malasig/ Interaksyon)
