Actress Rhian Ramos drew questions after posting about taking her “first shower” of the year five days into the new year.
The Kapuso actress wrote the following on her X (formerly Twitter) account on the afternoon of Monday, January 5:
“Okay, time to take my first shower of 2026”
Her post has earned 251,600 views, 840 likes, 117 reposts, and 30 replies, with Filipinos expressing surprise at the actress’ post.
“Haha, happy new year, Rhian! Enjoy your first shower of the year,” an online user wrote with an emoji.
“‘Di ka pa naliligo simula January 1??? HAHAHAHAHAHA,” another commented.
“Baka nasa malamig na bansa [siya] ngayon. Understandable,” another Pinoy wrote.
“Limang araw, bi??????” another asked with crying emojis.
Meanwhile, state weather bureau PAGASA said that Filipinos should expect a cold surge this January, with some mountainous areas experiencing single-digit temperatures.
The cold surge is an effect of the northeast monsoon (amihan) affecting the country, a weather phenomenon marked by cool and dry air.
