MANILA, Philippines — Actor Nico Antonio has earned a new professional title after passing the 2025 Bar Examinations.

Antonio was among the 5,594 successful examinees out of 11,420 who took the bar this year as announced by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

The achievement comes shortly after Antonio portrayed a lawyer in the film “Unmarry,” turning his on-screen role into reality.

“From Atty. Willie on screen to Atty. Nico Antonio in real life. WOW, nakaka-proud naman talaga! Panoorin ang intense na court battle niya sa #UnMarry. Showing in cinemas nationwide!” Quantum Films wrote on social media.

Antonio is widely recognized for his range as an actor, earning praise for both comedic timing and dramatic depth. He won Best Supporting Actor at the CineFilipino Film Festival for “Delia & Sammy” and received the same award at the Metro Manila Film Festival for “Big Night!” He later secured another MMFF Best Supporting Actor win for “Here Comes The Groom.”

His other notable projects include the satirical film “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3” and the television series “Voltes V: Legacy.”

In recent years, Antonio has also taken on international work, appearing in South Korean productions such as “Big Bet” in 2022, where he played a CIDG officer alongside Son Suk Ku, and the 2025 K-drama “Confidence Queen.”

He is also associated with Quantum Films, the production company founded by his mother, producer and lawyer Joji Alonso, known for films including “English Only, Please” and “Espantaho.” (I. Iglesias/Manila Times)
