A step forward for the Filipino cultural centre

Community members celebrated the success of a Vancouver city council motion to advance the development of a Filipino cultural centre. Approved on December 10, 2025, the motion brought forward by Mayor Ken Sim and Councillor Lenny Zhou identified 1940 Main Street as the potential location of the centre. Kababayans gathered at the site on December 28 for a walkthrough and to witness the unveiling of preliminary renderings for the Filipino cultural centre being proposed by the Filipino Legacy Society and Filipino developer Tobi Reyes.
