The 2025 Brotherhood Basketball Cup came to an exciting close on Sunday, November 30, at the St. Bernadette School Gym in Surrey, B.C., capping off another spirited season of competition, camaraderie, and community pride.

In the championship showdown, SC2 JP Velasco Real Estate outlasted a determined Good Shepherd squad, claiming an 89–79 victory in a tightly contested battle. The Finals MVP honours went to Christian Ferrer, whose standout performance proved pivotal in securing the title. Good Shepherd earned a well-fought 1st Runner-Up finish.

Earlier in the day, SB2 Revere clinched 2nd Runner-Up after prevailing over the St. Joseph the Worker Guardians. The Guardians still made headlines, as Miguel Dela Cruz captured both the inaugural Rookie of the Year award and the league’s regular-season MVP—a rare double distinction for a rising star. Teammate Japeth Bondoc was also recognized with a Sportsmanship Award, highlighting the Guardians’ strong presence both on and off the court.

Founded in 2006 by brothers within the Couples for Christ (CFC) Vancouver Chapter, the Brotherhood Basketball Cup was established to strengthen fellowship among CFC families while providing a weekly recreational league rooted in purpose. Teams represent various communities across Greater Vancouver, each composed of active CFC members united by faith, friendship, and a shared love of the game.

True to its mission, the league continues to support Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) through weekly concessions and sponsorship-driven fundraising, with all proceeds donated directly to ANCOP’s charitable initiatives.
