Congratulations to the Bicol Association of British Columbia (BABC) for the successful celebration of its 35th Anniversary and Induction of New Officers, held on November 7, 2025, at Riverside Palace in Richmond BC, under the leadership of Incoming President Lorry Gavieres Russell.
The memorable evening was graced by Honourable Consul General Gina Jamoralin, Honourable Mable Elmore, and Councillor Maita Santiago, along with distinguished guests, community leaders, members, and friends. The program featured lively performances by Ed and Salve Dayao Band and Linda Magno, whole night of dancing follow, and exciting raffle draws that added to the spirit of celebration and camaraderie.
In her heartfelt inaugural address, President Lorry Russell expressed deep gratitude for the trust and confidence given to her, vowing to uphold the association’s strong legacy of unity, compassion, and community service over the past 35 years. She also paid tribute to outgoing President Robert Azaña and the previous Board for their dedication and contributions to the association’s success.
President Lorry Russell reaffirmed her commitment to strengthen programs, empower members, and foster collaboration with other Filipino organizations. She emphasized transparency, inclusivity, and teamwork as the core values guiding her leadership.
Looking ahead, the new officers aim to further expand community outreach, enhance engagement, and continue supporting Bicolandia and the broader Filipino-Canadian community.
