Inday Barretto calls out Raymart Santiago of abuse toward Claudine Barretto

MANILA, Philippines — Claudine Barretto’s mother, Inday, accused Raymart Santiago of physically and emotionally hurting her daughter.

In an interview with Ogie Diaz on his YouTube channel, Inday revealed that the Barretto family wholeheartedly accepted Raymart when he married Claudine.

“Hindi mo nakita sa family na ordinary on how… what family we have. Sinaktan mo na ‘yung anak namin, hindi ka pa (nakutento), ni-___ (bleep) mo pa sa harap ng masahista mo!” Inday said.

“Hindi mo alam nakita ng 4 (or) 5 years old na anak mo. They did not know what it was. Tapos kinuha mo na lahat ng properties na pinaghirapan niya para sa mga anak niya, mga anak n’yo which is supposed to be your job! Wala kang property at all,” she added.

“You married my daughter because she was Claudine Barretto, you dropped her when she stop being a Claudine Barretto because what you did to her because you stop when she is being one,” the Barretto martriarch said.

“Akala mo wala kang utang, you’ll find out, hindi kita sisingilin, Raymart never ka namin tinaboy ni daddy (Miguel Alvir Barretto). We treated you like our own son-in-law but you treated my daughter a beast like an animal na sa totoo lang ikaw ang tunay na animal!” she added.

The interview followed Claudine’s revelation that she is struggling with anxiety and depression.

Inday also shared that she once saw Claudine kneeling in front of Raymart to get his attention.

“When I saw that (napamura ako). I [stood] up, Inday Barretto gonna stand up and fight! That is what brought me here now, walang taong puwedeng magpapaluhod sa mga anak ko,” she said.

Inday also recalled an incident when she was at a mall and received a call from a frightened Claudine, who claimed Raymart was hurting her.

“Pagdating ko doon (sa bahay ng mag-asawa), alam ko may gulo. Mga anak ko kasi, Ogie, alam ko kung may sakit sila. Alam ko kung may kagalit sila. Alam ko kung may kaaway sila. Alam ko kung sinaktan mo sila. In fact one of them, kung may away with anyone sa partners nila, I can hear them cry, aswang ata ako…sana!” she said.

“Tapos bumaba si Raymart, normal naman, mamayang konti bumaba si Claudine hindi naman siya nagwawala na putris (bleep) na-injectionan na pala and that’s the start of that famous injection thing,” she added.

It was previously rumored that Claudine was injecting illegal drugs, but Inday clarified that this was not true.

“Hindi naman siya (Claudine) adik, eh. Alam mo kapag may kasalanan, (Raymart) you make up stories, people will believe lalo na celebrities, eh,” she said.

Claudine later called Inday again, asking for help.

“‘Where you now? Come now.’ Ibang klaseng iyak ‘yun. Parang kinakatay na yata ito, it was so bad! Pagdating, ayan na naman si Raymart baba sa stairs, ‘o mom, dad sit down,’” Inday said.

“After a while, bumaba si Claudine. After a while ha, hindi right away pagbaba ng anak ko, hindi ko na nakikita ang anak ko parang zombie na hindi normal parang may pinagdaanan,” she added.

“This one (hindi ko pa nasasabi) panindigan ko talaga ito, kita ko pagbaba ni Claudine sa ilalim ng stairs usually tumatakbo pag (nakita) ang parents, she just collapsed in the arms of daddy hug siya ni daddy, kinuha ko ‘yung paa niya nilagay ko dito malamig pa sa yelo,” Inday also said.

“Alam mo daddy looked at me, I looked at daddy, we knew it was more than anything else lalo na instinct ng parents, he ___ (bleep) my daughter in front of pilay na masahista nila, Santino saw it!” she added.

“Tinago ko ‘yan in years out of shame kasi baka hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko. You know what, nilagyan niya ng face towel ‘yung mouth ni Claudine, I know the story parang wala lang sa kanya.”

Ogie then asked Inday how she knew Raymart was abusing Claudine.

“Later on, nobody need to tell me, di mo kailangan sabihin sa akin. Nagtitinginan lang kami ni Claudine hindi niya masabi sa hiya o sa takot. Iniisip niya kung anong gagawin ko o anong gagawin ng mga kapatid niya, o baka ikamatay ni daddy,” Inday said.

“Kinaladkad niya si Claudine parang kinatay na baboy. Malaki ang garahe nila marami silang kotse. Hindi ko nakita pero narinig ko nagsisigawan kasi marami ng tao sa street, eh. Maririnig mo ‘yung (sigaw ng mga tao), ‘tama na uy, tama na, tulungan n’yo (si Claudine).’ Walang magawa (ang lahat),” the mother said.

“Ang nakita ko lang hinahabol niya si Claudine, parang daga ang anak ko tapos si Claudine malapit sa door para mag-escape, tatago ro’n, naabutan niya at hinablot pa niya, but before that maraming nagsabing tama na, mga kapitbahay, maraming tao saw it,” she continued.

“Si Daddy sinabihan niya si Raymart (minura), ‘tama na, I’m on my way, you wait for me’ and isang platon na pulis ang kasama ko. Pagdating namin wala na siya (Raymart) nag-eskapo na,” she concluded.

Raymart Santiago’s lawyers respond to Inday Barretto’s claims

MANILA — The lawyers of actor Raymart Santiago have responded to Inday Barretto’s claims that the actor was abusive to her youngest daughter Claudine Barretto.

The Barretto matriarch made the claim in a vlog of veteran entertainment writer Ogie Diaz, which premiered last October 19.

In his Facebook post on Monday, Diaz uploaded the statement from Atty. Howard Calleja and Atty. Katrin Jessica Distor-Guinigundo, lawyers of Santiago, refuting Mrs. Barretto’s claims, saying that it was “untruthful and slanderous.”

“It is very unfortunate that Mrs. Barreto offered to resort to publicity to spread this untruthful and slanderous narrative about our client and his marriage with Miss Claudine Barretto, who has likewise repeatedly exploited social media and sought recourse through trial by publicity to discredit our client’s name and reputation,” part of the statement read. 

“It appears at the root of Mrs. Barretto’s outrage is the conjugal land sold by Miss Claudine three years ago absent the knowledge and consent of our client. Our client refuses to partake in any dispute involving, or irregularity in Miss Claudine and her cohorts may have committed,” it added.

The statement also reminded Claudine, her family and her agents of the existing gag order.

“To reiterate, we remind Miss Claudine, her family and agents that there is an existing Gag Order issued by the Family Court, Branch 5 of Mandaluyong City, as early as September 2023, which our client has faithfully complied with, having kept his peace all these years. It is his hope that Miss Claudine, her family, and her agents would do the same, out of respect for the courts of justice and more importantly, for the sake of their children. Finally, let this be final warning that any utterances in contravention of the law shall be dealt  with before the appropriate forum to protect our clients’s rights and to preserve his interests,” the statement ended.

Claudine and Santiago were married in May 2004. They separated in May 2013, and subsequently took their feud to court. They have two children. (abs-cbn)
