RICHMOND, BC – Staying true to its mission of serving the community, the Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has raised $30,000 through its annual Installation & Charity Gala to Richmond Hospital Foundation’s POWER UP Campaign to strengthen local health care services.
The funds will help bring innovative technologies to Richmond Hospital’s new acute care tower, the Yurkovich Family Pavilion. These advancements will ensure patients receive the best available care more quickly, safely, and comfortably as demand continues to grow alongside Richmond’s population.
“We serve because we are guided by a deep commitment to one another and our community,” says Eric Wan, President, Vancouver Diamond Lions Club. “By empowering health care workers with future-forward technology for better medical care, we extend care to each other, to our community, and to every patient–present and future.”
For a third consecutive year, the Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has chosen Richmond Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary of its annual Installation & Charity Gala. Co-chaired by Gordon Zhang and Vivian Chung this year, the celebration held in late June brought together musical talent, connection, and a shared sense of purpose. Attendees had the opportunity to sing on stage during the fundraising karaoke segment.
Vancouver Diamond Lions Club has been a longstanding partner of Richmond Hospital Foundation since 2009, contributing to initiatives from the ACT NOW Campaign to the Medical Imaging Centre Campaign in support of the Yurkovich Family Pavilion.
“We are grateful to Vancouver Diamond Lions Club for their continued commitment to advancing health care in Richmond,” says Spencer Gall, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Richmond Hospital Foundation. “Their latest donation towards the POWER UP Campaign will help elevate the quality of patient care from admission to discharge when the new acute care tower opens its doors.”
The POWER UP Campaign aims to help provide more access, efficient, and patient-centred care through technological efficiencies and advancements in the new Yurkovich Family Pavilion, including the Emergency Department and Operating Rooms.
