Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez is the winner of the 20th season of America’s Got Talent. This was announced earlier today, September 25 after the public voting closed, which had fans of the singer pushing her into the top spot.
Jessica took the final stage with her own rendition of Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s hit song, “Die With A Smile.”
“Let’s give a round of applause for the Season 20 winner of AGT!” the reality talent show shared on their social media accounts.
After her performance, the singer received a standing ovation from all the judges and was given praise by all of them. She was nine months pregnant at the time she performed her final song at the prestigious talent competition.
In her acceptance speech, she shared how emotional she was to be winning the comepetition.
“I’m really emotional right now… This is amazing, thank you so much, America,” Jessica shared.
Previously, she expressed how she was feeling a little nervous despite giving a powerful performance.
“I think I’m feeling all the feels. I’m definitely a little nervous. I am so close to my due date, so that’s a little crazy but I’m also super excited. And like I said, just be here 9 months pregnant, this is like kinda once in a lifetime kind of thing so I’m super, super excited,” she said.
“There’s so many amazing talents and I’m just honored to be on the stage, sharing it with them. I just hope to give America the best that I got for the finales,” she added.
Jessica also expressed her gratitude towards her loyal fans and all the Filipinos who supported her in her journey to becoming the winner of America’s Got Talent.
“I just wanted to get on here and just thank you guys so much for all of the support. I am just overwhelmed by the amount of comments and the love that you guys have shown me. I love you guys so much,” she shared.
“Thank you for bringing me this far. If you guys didn’t know, I am nine months pregnant and I am a finalist on ‘AGT’ and this is just been like such a dream. I didn’t think that I would make it this far and you guys made that possible for me so I just want to thank you guys so much. I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow. I don’t know there’s just so many amazing talents. I did my very best tonight for you guys. I hope you guys love it. I don’t know what’s gonna happen,” she continued.
The Voice USA Season 26 Champion Sofronio Vasquez was one of the many celebrities that shared the win of Jessica on their social media accounts. Other netizens sent their congratulatory messages in the comment section of the talent competition’s post.
“So deserving!!!!!!! 20 years later.. what a full circle moment. She’s ready to take on the music industry after her baby,” a fan wrote. (D. Acierto/push.com)
