Apl. De. Ap. has met with Senators Risa Hontiveros and Kiko Pangilinan at the Senate to discuss his project involving coconut farmers.

On social media, Hontiveros shared a snap with the Black Eyed Peas member and welcomed him to the Senate.

Talagang nakaka- #PinoyPride,” said.

Meanwhile, Pangilinan proudly declared “Kasama natin si Apl. Sa laban para sa ting mga magniniyog” as he posted photos from their meeting.

According to the Chairman of the Agriculture Committee, they spoke at length about Apl’s project, “100 Million Coconuts Tress for the Climate” and affirmed his support for the initiative.

Apl.De.Ap. earlier wrote about his project on GMA News Online, revealing his plans to plant 100 million coconuts trees across the country.

“That sounds big, but it starts small. Barren land given a new lease at life. A farmer getting another chance,” the Black Eyed Peas member earlier wrote.

He followed it up with another essay, this time on food security, soil health, and the importance oef farming to the Filipinos.

“When we farm, we create livelihoods right here, at home. We give people a reason to stay. We rebuild dignity in the very act of growing,” he said.

Apl is fresh off a successful concert with Black Eyed Peas, where Sandara Park was a special guest. Apart from the concert, he also brought his bandmates to his hometown in Pampanga.
