On August 10, the vibrant Sine Pilipinas festival concluded with a memorable closing event that celebrated Filipino culture and cinema. Held under the capable organization of Inarte, led by Ryan Ferrer and Lita Cabal, the event was graced by distinguished guests including Mayor Brenda Locke, MP Tako von Popta, Philippine Consul General Gina Jamoralin, Consul Analyn Ratonel, and Senator Yonah Martin.

The evening featured special appearances by acclaimed filmmaker Karen Salutan Krukover and emerging young filmmaker Ethan Cabal, highlighting the festival’s dedication to nurturing both established and upcoming talents. The Himig Kabataan Cultural Society added a moving touch to the ceremony by performing the Canadian and Philippine anthems, as well as the heartfelt hymn “Lead Me Lord.” Notably, this group was also featured in the short film Rooted Frequencies, showcased during the festival.

The closing marked the end of a successful three-day celebration of Filipino artistry, storytelling, and community spirit — a testament to the power of film to connect cultures and generations. Sine Pilipinas continues to inspire audiences and filmmakers alike with its rich showcase of Philippine cinema.
