Mable Elmore hosts culinary showdown

Mable Elmore and her BC NDP MLA colleagues displayed their culinary skills in a cook-off to raise funds for Elmore’s Vancouver-Kensington association and the B.C. NDP.

Titled as “MLAs à la Carte: Culinary Showdown”, the event was held at the Please Beverage Co. in Vancouver on August 10, 2025.

Showcasing their skills in the kitchen were Elmore, who is the BC NDP MLA for Vancouver-Kensington and Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of B.C.; Burnaby North MLA Janet Routledge; Burnaby East MLA Rohini Arora; and Coquitlam-Maillardville MLA Jennifer Blatherwick.

Also joining the fun were North Vancouver-Seymour Susie Chant; former Richmond-Queensborough MLA Aman Singh; former candidate for Vancouver-Quilchena MLA Callista Ryan; Sukhi Singh Sahota, former federal candidate for Vancouver-Granville Sukhi Singh Sahota; and Rob Ashton, president of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada.

Emceeing the event was Adrian Dix, MLA for Vancouver-Renfrew and Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions and Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs.

Also around were up-and-coming Filipino community figures Céline Loriot and Armor Valor Corrales.

The Vancouver-Kensington association of the BC NDP is led by president Maria Fe Infante.

The fundraiser was ably assisted by Jean Elie Augustin of the B.C. NDP provincial office.
