Actress-director-screenwriter Bela Padilla said she is open to fall in love again after doing promotions for her latest film “100 Awit Para Kay Stella.”
This comes after she confirmed her split from her boyfriend of almost five years, Swiss-Italian Norman Ben Bay.
“Siguro after I finish promos first. Why not, I love falling in love. I don’t think there is anything wrong with putting yourself out there,” she said in an interview held after the press conference of “100 Awit Para Kay Stella” in Quezon City.
“Kaso ‘di na ako marunong mag-date for 2025,” she jokingly added.
According to the “Meet Me in St. Gallen” star, their long-distance setup and her decision to move back to the Philippines were key factors in the breakup.
Padilla moved to London in 2021 but has since returned to resume working here full-time.
“Sabi ko nga sa pelikula ko dati, some people are just meant to pass by. Kasi titira na ako dito ulit,” she explained.
“Definitely one of the biggest factors was my moving back. Hindi rin kasi kami magkasama [noon.] Nasa London ako, nasa Switzerland siya. Nahirapan ako. LDR na shorter but still LDR,” she added.
She clarified, however, that their parting was mutual and that they remain on good terms — with her ex even visiting last month.
“Dumalaw pa sa shooting he was here and napasyal niya pa buong Pampanga. Hindi na kami noon,” she said.
Padilla is set to reprise her role as Stella in Director Jason Paul Laxamana’s “100 Awit Para Kay Stella,” the sequel of blockbuster hit “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.”
