A New Chapter of Leadership and Service

The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) – Vancouver Chapter held a successful induction ceremony for its new officers at Metrotown Banquet Hall in Burnaby, B.C.

Vice Consul Marco Harder of the Philippine Consulate administered the oath to the new board, while Burnaby Councillor Maita Santiago inducted the committee officers. Both highlighted the importance of ethical leadership, resilience, and the irreplaceable human role in accounting, even in the age of AI.

Outgoing President Antonio Matias thanked the members for their support, reflecting on key achievements including professional development programs and outreach initiatives. The new leadership, led by incoming President Jorge Ligason, represents a strong mix of seasoned professionals and emerging leaders from diverse sectors.

Singer Adrian Salcedo performs a touching rendition of OPM songs. The incoming President Jorge Ligason closed the event with a message of gratitude and a renewed call for integrity, innovation, and service in the chapter’s future.

As PICPA Vancouver marks its 23rd year, this successful induction event ushers in a promising new chapter, one that builds on past achievements and looks ahead to continued growth and meaningful impact within the Filipino-Canadian professional community.
