Vancouver, The United Filipino-Canadian Associations of British Columbia (UFCABC) announces the cancellation of Pista ng Bayan Vancouver 2025, one of the most anticipated Filipino Cultural Festivals in the province.
This decision comes in light of the tragic incident at the recent Lapu-Lapu Block Party, which deeply impacted the Filipino community and the broader public.
After careful consideration and heartfelt discussions, UFCABC has chosen to defer this year’s Pista ng Bayan to next year in order to focus our attention on what truly matters right now—community healing and support for the victims and their families.
The grief and emotional toll experienced by many in our community cannot be overstated. We believe our resources and energy are best directed at helping our community recover through our #PinoyVancouverStrong initiative.
Pista ng Bayan has long been a celebration of Filipino pride, culture, and unity. UFCABC acknowledges the continued support of the community, sponsors, volunteers, and cultural partners who have made the event possible year after year.
We remain deeply grateful for the unwavering support of our community. While this year’s event will not go forward, we are committed to regrouping and returning even stronger in 2026, with a celebration that reflects both our resilience and our rich cultural heritage.
In the meantime, UFCABC invites the public to take part in the ongoing support initiatives for those affected by the Lapu-Lapu tragedy. Details of these efforts, including donation and volunteer opportunities, will be announced through UFCABC’s official channels.
